National Systems Conference
SSI conducts National Systems Conference in December every year at reputed Institution/organization desirous of hosting NSC. In the past NSC has been hosted by Institutions/organizations like VSSC, ISAC, IISC, IITs, DRDO, NIT, BHU, IIT-Roorkee etc.


Awards
SSI has instituted the following awards which are given away in the inaugural session of every NSC.
  • National Systems Gold Medal for lifetime contribution to Systems theory and application.
     
  • Young Scientist Award for Systems Theory for outstanding theoretical work on systems theory by Engineers/Scientist below age of 40

  • Young Scientist Award for Systems Theory for outstanding work on application of systems theory by Engineers/Scientist below age of 40 
     
  • R K Varshney Award for lifetime contribution to Systems Theory

  • SSI Vikram Awardfor outstanding contribution to real life systems of National importance having relevance to societal application.

Local Chapters
National body of SSI encourages formation of regional local chapters. The membership of local chapters is confined to the geographic boundary of the local chapter. The membership applications submitted to local chapter has to be forwarded to the National Executive Committee for scrutinizing the eligibility of the applicant before approving the membership. On such approval from Executive Committee the local chapters will be intimated regarding approval of the application and the membership number, if approved, with a copy to the applicant. Only on the approval of the Executive Committee, the applicant becomes the member of Systems Society of India. The local chapters arrange Workshops, Technical Talks, Exhibitions etc to promote and propagate the application of Systems Concept in dealing with Engineering and Social Problems. SSI has local chapters at New Delhi, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Lucknow, Kanpur, Secunderabad, Visakhapatnam, Bangalore & Chennai.
